Beijing, April 24 /Xinhua/ — The 107th Chinese naval task group recently conducted military exercises in waters east of the Philippine island of Luzon. This is reported in a statement from the Southern Theater Command of the People’s Liberation Army of China /SOUTHERN THEATER COMMAND PLA/ published on Friday.
It is noted that the main focus in the exercise was on the development of combat shooting, interaction of naval and air forces, rapid maneuvering and replenishment of supplies at sea in order to test the ability to conduct integrated joint operations.
These are necessary actions taken in connection with the current regional situation and in accordance with international law and international practice, as stated in the declaration.
The YUZBK NOAK forces will regularly conduct appropriate military operations depending on needs related to the security situation, for the protection of national sovereignty, security, as well as peace and stability in the region, the statement notes. –0–
