Moscow, April 20 /Sinhua/ — In the Krasnodar region of Russia, an oil product spill in the Black Sea and the Tuapse River is being eliminated. This was reported on Monday by the regional operations headquarters.
According to the operational headquarters, the oil spill one and a half miles from the port of Tuapse, which was detected in a satellite image, appeared as a result of a drone attack on the region, carried out on the night of April 16 and damaging the infrastructure of the sea terminal.
The contaminated area of the water body is estimated at 10 thousand sq. m, for its localization barrier booms have been installed. Six vessels from the port of Tuapse are engaged in eliminating the consequences of the oil product spill.
In addition, the oil product spill in the Tuapse River in the region is also being liquidated; it has already been localized. At the site, 750 meters of boom barriers and 5 special devices for collection have been installed, and an oil skimmer is equipped. –0–
