Second-year student of the engineering academy RUDN Yulia Danilchenko became the recipient of the prestigious named scholarship of the Moscow Government. The high award was the result of the excellent academic performance of the young woman and her active participation in socially significant projects of the capital and the university.
The solemn ceremony of joining the program took place in the Marble Hall of the Moscow City Hall, where, in an official setting, the best university students received guidance and wishes for success in their future professional activities.
The student majoring in “Management in Technical Systems” was deliberately moving towards this goal. She learned about the program in her first year.
“The scale of the event and the festive atmosphere made a great impression. But this is only the beginning of the journey — the ISPMS program opens access to a multitude of events for every taste, and I plan to actively participate in them to contribute to the development of the student community of Moscow,” —Yulia Danilchenko.
Intellectual games
The high status of the scholarship holder is confirmed by Yulia’s versatile activity. She is an expert of the Youth League “What? Where? When?”, as well as a successful player in the sports version of “What? Where? When?”. As part of the team, the girl won silver at the BFU Cup in intellectual games.
“What? Where? When?” I have been passionate about since school. Although I also play in the sports version of ChGK, I prefer the “elite” version, that is, the game in the format and according to the rules of the television show, which is conducted within the framework of the Youth League,” —Yuliya Danilchenko.
In the Youth League, the student team reached the finals of the series several times, and in the last played game (at the time of the interview), Yulia was recognized as the best expert.
Good deeds for the benefit of the university
Yulia also actively develops the volunteer direction in the engineering academy. On her account are the support of the postulates of Russian education, work at the “Ethnofest”, assistance in organizing the International Olympiad on financial literacy and the scientific conference dedicated to the 100th anniversary of Patrice Lumumba.
The student became interested in volunteering specifically at RUDN. Her first event was “Ethnofest.” Yuliya was captivated not only by the opportunity to do a good deed for the benefit of the university, but also by the “internationality” without which not a single event takes place at the university.
As Yulia herself says, she likes working with foreign delegates the most: meeting them at the airport, accompanying them during check-in, or, conversely, seeing them off for their flight. She emphasizes: often the first people a foreign guest communicates with upon arrival in Russia are volunteers, and she always wants to make a pleasant first impression about Russians.
“At one of the events with me, a touching story happened. A delegate from Namibia, as a token of gratitude for the help, gave me a pack of traditional snack — dried meat,” —Yuliya Danilchenko.
Language achievements and red diploma
In addition to the successes already listed, Yulia is proud of her serious results in learning foreign languages. In November 2024, she passed an international exam in English with a high score — 8.0 out of 9, confirming the C1 proficiency level. Moreover, she is preparing to take the HSK 3 exam in Chinese.
Knowledge of foreign languages, according to Yulia, always helps both in volunteer work and in extensive travels — she has already visited 22 countries.
Also in the student’s achievements collection is a red diploma from the MGIMO college. After defending her graduation qualification work, she received job offers but decided to continue her education at RUDN. Among her first plans, as a participant in a scholarship program, Yulia mentioned taking part in a popular science competition for youth, dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the first human spaceflight.
