Kabul, April 19 /Xin Hua/ — More than 73 thousand people have been affected by recent floods in 31 provinces of Afghanistan over the past 12 days. This was reported on Saturday by the local news portal Tolo news, citing the UN Population Fund /UNFPA/.
According to reports, the floods caused significant damage, destroying thousands of homes, agricultural lands, and key infrastructure facilities, including roads. Displaced families, especially women and girls, face serious difficulties in obtaining medical care. Among the urgent needs are food, shelter, financial aid, and psychosocial support.
Humanitarian organizations have called for an increase in aid to meet growing needs and to prevent further deterioration of living conditions. –0–
