Volunteers of the Syzran oil refinery (part of “Rosneft”) planted 3 thousand pine seedlings in the Rachyey forestry of the Samara region. The goal of the environmental campaign is to preserve the historical memory of those who defended the Motherland at the front during the Great Patriotic War at the cost of their lives and worked selflessly in the rear.
The Syzran Oil Refinery and the entire oil industry of the region played a special role in the history of Victory. It was here that, in the shortest possible time, a method was found to extract Devonian oil and an oil refinery was built, the products of which were already being supplied to the Stalingrad front in July 1942. The planted pine trees will become a living monument to the heroism of our defenders. Their unconditional love for the Motherland and patriotism serve as an unforgettable example for current and future generations.
An ecological campaign took place in the Racheysky Bor territory – one of the most valuable nature monuments of the Volga region, covering an area of about 10 thousand hectares. This is the only taiga massif in the southeast of the European part of Russia that was seriously affected by a large natural fire several years ago. For six years, the company’s volunteers have been conducting forest restoration campaigns. Together with students from the Syzran branch of SamGTU – a partner university of Rosneft – over 30 thousand pine and birch seedlings have been planted.
Environmental protection is an integral part of Rosneft’s corporate culture and social policy. The company implements large-scale environmental programs aimed at minimizing the impact on the environment, improving the environmental quality of production, conservation, and restoration of natural ecosystems.
