On March 27 and 30, at the site of Engineering School No. 777 in Saint Petersburg, the All-Russian Competition of Technological Leaders Mentors “TechnoFocus” took place. The event was organized by the Association of Educational Organizations “Consortium for the Development of School Engineering Education” with the support of leading experts and educators from across the country.

The competition was aimed at identifying and disseminating best practices in the field of school engineering and technological education, as well as developing a professional community of mentors who form future technological leaders. The organizers paid special attention to issues related to the formation of the civic position of educators in the context of achieving technological sovereignty of Russia.

The expert commission evaluating the competitive classes included representatives of the Saint Petersburg State Architectural and Construction University: I.O. Head of the Department of Information Technology and Mathematical ModelingAlena Vedernikova,Assistant of the Department of Technospheric Safety, Director of the Test Site “Smart Labor”Alexander Dmitrievand master’s student of the Department of Information Technology and Mathematical ModelingDarina Dzagania.

On the first day of the competition for schoolchildren, lecture sessions were organized with a detailed analysis of the topics, after which the participants proceeded to the practical part. The program included master classes and interactive sessions: schoolchildren worked with robotic systems, mastered CNC machines, created models of historical buildings of Vyborg, participated in a business game to solve real company tasks, and also studied the basics of working in the CorelDRAW graphic editor.

Our experts actively participated in the educational process: they asked questions, provided professional comments, and evaluated the competitive activities. This allowed for an objective selection and identification of the strongest participants.

On March 30, at the forum “Progressive Discussion,” experts determined the winners. The discussion touched on key issues of technological mentorship, the implementation of modern educational technologies, and the development of relevant competencies among schoolchildren. Participants presented their own solutions to problems related to the state of primary and secondary education.

Teachers who have shown the best results will have the opportunity to become mentors for the specialized shift of the International Children’s Center “Artek”, where they will be able to implement their own educational programs and continue working on the formation of a personnel reserve of technological leaders.
