At the Engineering and Construction Institute of SPbPU, the All-Russian Scientific Conference “Innovative Materials and Technologies in Industrial and Civil Construction — 2026” took place. The event was organized with the support of the Russian Association of Polymer Energy-Efficient Technologies (RAPET) within the framework of the All-Russian Scientific Conference “Science Week of the Engineering and Construction Institute 2026”.

The conference brought together researchers, scientists and experts from higher educational institutions, design engineers, and representatives of project and construction organizations of Russia.

At the opening, the director of the Engineering and Construction Institute Marina Petrochenko, the chairman of the Russian Association of Polymer Energy Efficient Technologies Natalia Pavlenko, the Vice-Rector for Scientific Work of the Saint Petersburg State Architectural and Construction University, chairman of the regional branch of the Russian Engineering Academy Evgeny Korolyov, and the head of the department “Building Materials Science, Products and Structures” of Belgorod State Technological University named after V. G. Shukhov Valery Lesovik spoke.

Rad welcomes everyone to the site of the Polytechnic University, rich in history and one of the leaders in higher education in Russia, in the field of training highly qualified personnel for the construction industry. The construction industry is developing intensively and requires adaptation to modern realities, the emergence of new innovative materials and technologies. The conference theme is topical, and it is important that there is a platform where young specialists can present their developments, receive expert evaluation, and move forward in the implementation of their projects.,— Natalya Pavlenko addressed the participants.

The Engineering and Construction Institute is holding such a conference for the first time, and we are glad that it has brought together such a large number of participants. I hope that today’s event will become one of the key events of the Science Week of the Engineering and Construction Institute 2026. It is especially valuable for us that leading scientific schools in the field of building materials science have gathered on our site. The development and implementation of new materials and technologies is one of the priority scientific and technological projects of our university. We hope that today’s discussions will be productive and useful for all of us, and that through joint efforts we will continue to develop construction science.,â — greeted the guests Marina Petrochenko.

At the conference, 24 oral and 30 poster presentations were made, covering key areas in the field of innovative construction materials: composite materials, effective binders and concrete based on IA, as well as materials for restoration work.

Special attention was paid to the issues of system analysis in construction materials science, energy efficiency of enclosing structures in various climatic zones, modern innovative technologies for the production of building materials, geopolymer building materials based on a fly ash mixture, possibilities for obtaining phosphoanhydrite binders from phosphogypsum at various industrial enterprises, kinetics of afterglow and uniform distribution of luminescence in glowing concrete, erection of massive reinforced concrete structures by the method of seamless concreting, development and use of additives for obtaining special-purpose concretes.

During the conference, a solemn awarding of the winners took placescholarship competition of the educational project “MATERIALIZATION OF KNOWLEDGE”“, organized by the Russian Association of Polymer Energy Efficient Technologies. RAPET implements the project jointly with leading universities of the country to acquaint students of construction specialties with modern polymer materials, energy-efficient solutions, and digital design technologies.

The finalists were ten students of the Engineering and Construction Institute who successfully completed the specialized course, fulfilled the project tasks, and demonstrated high academic results. The winners will receive a monthly scholarship of 10,000 rubles for six months.
