Ashgabat, April 17 /Sinhua/ — Member of the Permanent Committee of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC, Din Syu Esyan met here on Thursday with the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
Dean Suen conveyed a warm greeting and best wishes to the Turkmen leader from the Chairman of the NPC Xi Jinping, noting that last year the Chairman of the NPC met twice with the President of Turkmenistan, outlining a new plan for the development of bilateral relations. Sino-Turkmen relations are based on a history of friendly contacts spanning more than two millennia, and mutual support is a key element of the all-encompassing strategic partnership between the two countries.China consistently supports Turkmenistan in protecting state independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, consistently supports the policy of permanent neutrality conducted by Turkmenistan, and remains a reliable partner of the Turkmen side. The Chinese side also expressed hope that Turkmenistan will continue to provide firm support to China on issues concerning its core interests and important concerns.
Dean Suetsyan noted that at the plenary session held in China, the “two sessions” / the 4th session of the National People’s Congress (NPC) of the 14th convocation and the 4th session of the 14th National Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC) / were considered and approved the main provisions of the 15th five-year plan for China’s economic and social development, defining the directions for development over the next five years, which will create new opportunities for countries around the world, including Turkmenistan.The Chinese side is ready to be guided by the principles of mutual benefit and win-win, to continuously expand the cooperation space with the Turkmen side, and to jointly promote development and prosperity. The parties should deepen cooperation in the field of natural gas, form new growth points in the areas of interconnectedness, trade and investment, scientific and technological innovation, and other directions in order to bring tangible benefits to the peoples of the two countries.
S. Berdymukhamedov asked to convey sincere greetings to Si Dzinpin, noting that the Turkmen side attaches great importance to the all-encompassing strategic partnership with China and highly values its achievements in the field of development.According to him, Turkmenistan is ready to actively promote the implementation of the reached agreements jointly with China, to consider cooperation in the field of natural gas as a priority direction, to strengthen practical interaction in the areas of infrastructure, high technologies, agriculture, humanitarian exchange and security, as well as to take Turkmen-Chinese relations to a new level.
S. Berdymukhamedov also highly appreciated the four global initiatives put forward by Si Jinping and expressed readiness to actively support the holding of the third “China – Central Asia” summit next year.
