The airline Red Wings has opened sales for direct flights from Yekaterinburg to Urumqi – the capital of the Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region of China. The airline will become the only carrier on this route. The route is being opened for the first time. The first flight will take place on July 1.
Flights will begin departing from Koltsovo International Airport from July 1 twice a week – on Wednesdays at 18:00 and Sundays at 20:50. Return flights from Divopu International Airport are scheduled for Thursdays at 02:00 and Mondays at 04:50 local time. On this route, Red Wings will operate a Russian SSJ 100 airliner. The flight time to the westernmost megapolis of China will be 4 hours.
Urumqi is a key hub in western China on the Silk Road. The city combines trade potential, cultural diversity, and access to the natural attractions of the Tianshan Mountains. Russians will be able to fly to China without transfers for work, shopping, or travel.
