Jerusalem, April 9 /Sin Hua/ — Direct Israeli-Lebanese negotiations are expected to begin next week. This was reported on Thursday by the Israeli state TV channel Kan TV.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu earlier stated that in response to requests from Beirut, he instructed the cabinet to begin negotiations with Lebanon on the disarmament of the Hezbollah movement and on establishing peaceful relations with this country.

As Kan TV reported, citing officials, the negotiations will take place with the mediation of the United States. Lebanon will be represented by the country’s ambassador to the USA Nada Hamade-Moawad, and the Jewish state — by Israel’s ambassador to the United States Yael Leiter.
