Beijing, April 9 /Xin Hua/ — The Chinese side hopes that the European Union will assist together with China in the healthy and positive development of bilateral trade and economic relations. This was stated on Thursday by the official representative of the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC, Ye DUN.
As He Yadun noted, China and the EU, being among each other’s key trading partners, have laid a solid foundation for trade and economic cooperation and have supported its dynamic growth for many years. Both sides have deeply integrated their production and supply chains and formed relationships characterized by complementary advantages, mutual benefits, and win-win outcomes.
The agency representative drew attention to the fact that China has always been open to negotiations and the signing of bilateral trade and economic agreements with the European Union and welcomes the corresponding proposals from European leaders.
“Nevertheless, in recent years the EU has deployed a whole range of economic and trade instruments to initiate investigations and impose restrictions on Chinese companies,” noted He Yadun.
According to him, China hopes that the EU will pay more attention to the opinions of its member states and European business circles, abandon protectionist measures, and begin to move towards China.
The official representative of China’s Ministry of Commerce called on the European Union to replace the building of walls and barriers with open cooperation, to resolve frictions and disagreements through dialogue and consultations, and together to promote healthy and positive development of trade and economic relations between China and the EU.
