From January to March, students of the construction faculty of SPbGASU participated in an international internship on the construction of the first nuclear power plant in Egypt, “El-Dabaa”, being built by Russian specialists.

The internship was conducted as part of the international student construction squad “Dyuna”: this project involves Russian student squads, the state corporation “Rosatom” and JSC “KONTZERN TITAN-2.” Thirty students from various regions of Russia were involved. Petersburg was represented by fighters from the international consolidated student construction squad (MSSSO) “Wheel of Fortune,” which included students of SPbGASU.

Participants in the project from our university were students of the fourth yearAndrey Repin– commander of MSSSO “Wheel of Fortune” and head of the MSSSO “Dune” project, third-year studentElena Ozerova– commissioner of the ‘Wheel of Fortune’ squad and a graduate of the faculty of construction in 2025Daniil Terentyev.

Interns performed a wide range of tasks. For example, Elena Ozerova completed her internship in the safety production management department, where she managed labor protection documentation, analyzed the production discipline, and also participated in the preparation of materials on safety issues. Special attention is paid to compliance with regulations, discipline, and the safety culture in construction: for students, this is an opportunity not only to apply the acquired knowledge in practice, but also to get acquainted with the working conditions at a large infrastructure facility.

In addition to production activities, the squad participants held sports and creative events. Meetings were held with the management of subcontracting companies.

Project participants note that the practice at the AES “El-Dabaa” gave them unique professional experience, helped to expand their understanding of modern construction technologies and international standards, and to form important competencies for their future careers.
