On July 2, 2026, took place III Annual Conference “Exchange Instruments for Decarbonization”, organized by the group “Moscow Exchange” with the support of the Russian Partnership for Climate Preservation.
The key themes of the conference were issues and opportunities for the development of exchange markets for carbon units and electricity origin certificates, the needs and perspectives of Russian business on decarbonization instruments, as well as current opportunities for attracting capital to implement climate projects.
The event was attended by representatives of companies implementing climate projects, active participants in the market for electricity origin certificates, as well as green and climate bonds.
Maksim Kochetkov, Head of Sustainable Development at Moscow Exchange:
“The Decarbonization Conference provided a market perspective on climate projects, the carbon market, and also helped us understand how exchange-traded instruments can work effectively to support them. We welcome businesses that have taken responsibility for achieving climate goals and are glad that the topic of sustainable development remains on the business community’s agenda.”
During the conference, participants discussed in detail the possibilities of exchange-traded instruments for financing climate projects. Currently, there are more than 40 issues of sustainable development bonds in circulation on the Moscow Exchange with a total amount of 555 billion rubles.
The conference concluded with a certificate awarding ceremony for the companies participating in the Moscow Exchange Index of Climate Resilience for non-financial companies. The index, launched in July 2025, takes into account over 60 ESG parameters to assess companies’ environmental resilience.
The event became carbon-neutral thanks to the compensation of its carbon footprint using carbon units issued under the TGK-1 project.
