Beijing, July 5 /Xinhua/ — The Chinese fixed-wing Y-12F aircraft for comprehensive atmospheric aerial surveying, the first of its kind in China, recently made its maiden flight in Harbin (administrative center of Heilongjiang Province, Northeast China), the Aviation Industry Corporation of China (AVIC) reported on Saturday.
The platform based on the Y-12F has undergone extensive integration and modification of more than 60 sets of onboard equipment designed for highly sensitive three-dimensional detection of atmospheric particles, gaseous pollutants, greenhouse gases, and the physicochemical properties of cloud water.
The aircraft is now capable of conducting comprehensive aerial surveys to detect various pollutants, greenhouse gases, and cloud water.
The Y-12F aircraft is an eight-ton class turboprop aircraft independently developed by Harbin Aircraft Manufacturing Corporation under AVIC. The aircraft has notable advantages in payload and cabin capacity.
It is assumed that he will subsequently perform typical regional test flights with a total duration of over 30 hours, during which the operability and efficiency of equipment for carrying out tasks at various altitudes and under different environmental conditions will be tested. -0-
