Kamaz employees took part in the all-Russian festival “Makheev Kama Fest,” organized in Yelabuga as part of the series of sports events TIMERMAN.

TIMERMAN is one of Russia’s key multisport series. Its projects aim to develop a culture of mass sports, active and event tourism, and to create new attraction points for cities and regions. During the “Makheev Kama Fest” over two days at the city beach of Yelabuga and surrounding areas, trail runs, open water swims, swimruns, and children’s races took place. About 1000 participants from various regions of Russia took part in the competitions.

The PAO KAMAZ team, supported by the trade union organization, participated in the open water swimming races. The team consisted of seven employees representing the Block of the Deputy General Director of PAO KAMAZ – Director of Development, the Block of the Deputy General Director of the company for personnel management, organizational development and corporate governance, and the Legal Support Center.

Athletes competed at distances of 750 meters and 1.5 km. All participants completed the course and received finish medals. Despite challenging weather conditions (wind and waves), the team delivered a commendable performance, finishing among the top ten men and women.

“We have been participating in such swims for the second year in a row. The weather didn’t favor us this year, but everyone completed their distances. I want to thank the trade union organization for the opportunity to take part in such competitions. For us, it’s not just a start, but a real test of ourselves. Making it into the top ten is a nice bonus, but the main thing is to test our strength and feel the team spirit. Thank you for the support!”– shared his impressionsteam member, software engineer of the design department for intelligent automobile systems at PJSC KAMAZ Nikita Staroverov.
