Moscow, July 4 /Xinhua/ — A roundtable dedicated to the celebration of the 105th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of China (CPC) was held on Friday at the Chinese Embassy in Moscow. The event was attended by Russian politicians, diplomats, sinologists, and representatives of public organizations.

Speaking at the event, the Ambassador of the PRC to Russia, Zhang Hanhui, noted that the Communist Party of China has been able to achieve remarkable success over 105 years of continuous struggle primarily because it has consistently sought the truth, deeply rooted itself among the people, boldly undertaken its historical mission, and constantly focused on its own strengthening and improvement. “These very qualities are the answer to why the CPC has been able to succeed, as well as the most important key to understanding the Chinese path, China’s development, and its future,” the diplomat emphasized.

The ambassador also recalled the historical ties between the CPC and Russia. “The Chinese people will never forget that the shot from the ‘Aurora’ brought Marxism-Leninism to China, nor will they ever forget the invaluable support that the Soviet Union and the Soviet people gave to China at various stages of the revolution, socialist construction, and reforms,” said Zhang Hanhui, adding that inter-party relations are an important component of China-Russia relations in the new era.

The First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Chairman of the Society of Russian-Chinese Friendship Ivan Melnikov called the 105th anniversary of the CPC “not just a jubilee, but a symbol of the great path of the Chinese people” — from the struggle for independence to the creation of the People’s Republic of China, from poverty to the confident implementation of Chinese modernization. “The CPC has proven that a party deeply rooted in the people, capable of thinking strategically, maintaining ideological firmness, and at the same time renewing itself, can lead the country from victory to victory,” he noted.

“One can have different attitudes towards the Chinese experience, but one cannot deny its effectiveness, and this in very different situations, both internal and external. It can be useful for any country and for any ruling political party, because what matters is not the form, but the content. The internal content undoubtedly represents a global interest, and here everyone takes what they want and can, and uses it for themselves,” said the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation on International Affairs, Andrey Denisov.

Sergey Uyanaev, Deputy Director of the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia of the Russian Academy of Sciences, noted that China’s experience shows the world an alternative development path. “China’s experience presents another alternative, where economic achievements should primarily be aimed at the well-being of people, the benefit of its own population, and raising the standard of living. This experience is deeply sought after worldwide,” he emphasized.

On July 1, the PRC marked the 105th anniversary of the founding of the CPC.
