Beijing, July 4 /Xinhua/ — The State Council of the PRC has published the plan for building a “Beautiful China” during the 15th Five-Year Plan period (2026-2030), which outlines the general requirements, goals, key tasks, and main projects aimed at comprehensively advancing this initiative.
According to the plan, by 2030 China intends to achieve comprehensive ecological improvement, enhance environmental quality, and make significant progress in building a “Beautiful China,” during which environmentally friendly production technologies and lifestyles will be widely implemented, and the goals of reaching peak carbon dioxide emissions and carbon neutrality will be achieved within the set deadlines.
The plan outlines seven priority tasks, including efforts to preserve blue skies, clean water, and soil. It also aims to promote the improvement of ecosystems, actively counteract climate change, and accelerate the adoption of environmentally friendly production and an environmentally safe lifestyle for the population.
The document also proposes implementing major projects in areas such as the prevention and control of air pollution, protection and restoration of aquatic and marine ecological environments, control of soil pollution sources and cleanup of contaminated sites, disposal of industrial solid waste, as well as coordinated management of new pollutants. -0-
