“The task of the country’s construction complex is to ensure comfortable living conditions for citizens. To solve this, we pay special attention to expanding and renewing the country’s road framework. In this regard, we are implementing large-scale projects. For example, in the Rostov region, reconstruction is underway on one of the most important transport arteries that is part of the ‘North-South’ transportation corridor, which connects the central and southern regions of Russia. This road also carries humanitarian cargo for residents of border and reunified regions. This concerns the extended section of the M-4 ‘Don’ from kilometer 933 to 1024. Work here is in full swing. On a 36 km stretch of the six-lane road, the lower layer of asphalt concrete pavement has been laid across the entire carriageway width. As of today, the overall readiness of the project stands at 42%,” said Marat Khusnullin.
The reconstruction is carried out taking into account the high traffic load on the route, while maintaining the number of lanes in both directions of traffic.
According to Vyacheslav Petushenko, Chairman of the Board of the state company “Avtodor,” special attention is paid to ensuring road traffic safety.
The reconstruction of a section of the M-4 “Don” highway in the Rostov region is more than 40% complete.
“To eliminate dangerous intersections of traffic flows, the ramps of transport interchanges in the Krasnosulinsky and Oktyabrsky districts are being reconstructed. Simultaneously, new interchanges are being built in the Kamensky and Oktyabrsky districts. In total, their readiness is about 20%. Moreover, to enhance traffic safety, the facility will be equipped with an automated traffic management system. It will allow for prompt monitoring of the road situation. Also, for comfortable travel for motorists during nighttime, installation of artificial lighting lines is planned, and near populated areas, the installation of noise protection screens is envisaged,” noted Vyacheslav Petushenko.
Approximately 2,000 people and more than 600 pieces of equipment are simultaneously involved at the site. The completion of the work is planned for 2027.
The reconstruction is being carried out as part of the national project “Infrastructure for Life,” which is being implemented at the initiative of the President. The activities of the national project are synchronized with the party “United Russia”‘s people’s program.
