Beijing, July 3 /Xinhua/ — The upcoming state visit of Namibian President Hage Geingob to China is expected to elevate China-Namibia relations to a new height. This was announced on Friday by the official spokesperson of the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Gao Jiakun.
Guo Jiakun made a corresponding statement at a regular press briefing in response to a question about the planned visit of the President of Namibia, scheduled from July 5 to July 11. This trip will be N. Nandi-Ndaitwa’s first visit to China since taking office.
An official representative announced that during the visit, the President of China, Xi Jinping, will hold a welcoming ceremony and a welcome banquet for the President of Namibia. The leaders of the two countries will also hold talks. In addition, separate meetings with H. Nandi-Ndaitwah will be held by the Premier of the State Council of China, Li Qiang, and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress, Zhao Leji.
In addition to Beijing, the president of Namibia will also visit Guangdong Province /South China/ and Sichuan /Southwest China/, added Guo Jiakun.
The Chinese diplomat stated that political mutual trust between the two countries continues to deepen at present, and mutually beneficial cooperation is yielding substantial results.
