Under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, a meeting of the organizing committee for the preparation and conduct of the VI International Olympiad on Financial Security was held.

The meeting was attended by Yuri Chikhanchin, Deputy Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Director of the Federal Financial Monitoring Service; Mikhail Kotyukov, Governor of Krasnoyarsk Krai; Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education; Olga Koludarova, Deputy Minister of Enlightenment; Pyotr Fradkov, Chairman of PJSC Bank PSB; representatives of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Rossotrudnichestvo, the International Training and Methodological Center for Financial Monitoring, the ANO “National Priorities,” universities of the International Network Institute in the AML/CFT field, as well as other agencies and organizations.

Dmitry Chernyshenko noted that consistent preparations are underway for the final stage of the Olympiad, which will take place from September 27 to October 4, 2026, in the hospitable city of Krasnoyarsk.

“This year, under the instructions of our President Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin, the International Olympiad on Financial Security is being held for the sixth time. The invitation and selection stages have already been completed, and it is possible to draw preliminary conclusions. More than 40 countries participated in the selection, including new ones – Tunisia, Libya, Yemen, Sudan, Cameroon, Senegal. The Olympiad has rightfully established itself as a global project and has initiated the International Movement for Financial Security. Our task is not to stop at what has been achieved and to make the final competition program even more interesting across all four tracks: educational, professional, sports, and cultural,” stated the Deputy Prime Minister.

He instructed to pay special attention to ensuring the safety of participants and guests of the final stage of the Olympiad, as well as to translate the materials of the “Sodruzhestvo” platform into Chinese, where materials are published and national stages of competitions are held. Currently, the platform operates in five languages, and the tasks have been translated into seven languages. The Deputy Prime Minister also drew attention to the need to engage participants in using the developed mobile application.

Dmitry Chernyshenko added that from July 2 to 6, a specialized shift of the “Biryusa” forum on financial security – “FinZOZh” – is taking place in Krasnoyarsk.

The Director of Rosfinmonitoring, Yuri Chikhanchin, gave a detailed account of the preparations for the final week of the Olympiad and the key projects being implemented within the framework of the International Movement for Financial Security. He emphasized that lessons on financial security continue to be held in Russia.

“More than 3 million high school students attend the lessons annually. Classes are also held abroad—they have already taken place in more than 20 countries, and this year Venezuela, Jordan, Zambia, Mexico, and Ethiopia joined the project. In cooperation with Rosmolodezh, the all-Russian educational campaign ‘Safety Week’ was held for the first time, bringing together about 7,000 participants,” emphasized Yuri Chikhanchin.

During the final week of the Olympiad in Krasnoyarsk, over 60 events are planned in four key areas: educational, professional, sports, and cultural-moral. The main theme of all events will be the issues of using new technologies and artificial intelligence in the context of financial security – this current area will be offered to participants in the first financial security project competition.

In support of the Year of Unity of the Peoples of Russia, a festival called “Russia in Colors” is planned to be held during the final week of the Olympiad, where participants will be able to get acquainted with the ethnic and cultural diversity of our country.

An important element of value education remains the project “Heritage: landmarks of the future,” implemented by the Financial University under the Government of Russia and the Sretensky Theological Academy. Its program this year will cover up to 4,000 schoolchildren and students across the country.

The sports track is also expanding, taking on new formats and gaining an international dimension. An important innovation this year was the I International Athletics Games among movement participants, which brought together students from more than 40 countries. To unite the youth of the movement around sports, Yuri Chikhanchin proposed establishing an annual spartakiad for higher education institutions, which will take place in different cities and countries across various disciplines.

Also, the head of Rosfinmonitoring proposed organizing a Financial Security Week during the finals of the Olympiad in Krasnoyarsk. This will become a major event, with a rich program arranged for residents and guests of the city: master classes, intensive training sessions, and interactive formats designed for a wide range of audiences.

An important step in the development of the project was the directive from the President of the Russian Federation to expand the geography of holding the finals of the Olympiad across the country’s regions. In accordance with the selection regulations for the subjects of the Russian Federation, the necessary work has been carried out, and applications to hold the final stage of the 2027 Olympiad have been received from four regions of the country. The winning region will be officially announced at the closing ceremony of the final week in Krasnoyarsk.

“For the Krasnoyarsk Krai, it is a great honor to host this event for the second year in a row. We began preparations immediately after the conclusion of the previous Olympiad, without any pause. Throughout the year, we organized specialized events, sessions with schoolchildren, prepared volunteers, worked with students—the program for developing financial literacy in the region is on the move. We will do everything necessary to ensure that the Olympiad final is even better than a year ago and becomes a good benchmark for those four cities contending to host the next Olympiad,” stated the Governor of Krasnoyarsk Krai, Mikhail Kotyukov.

“We are systematically preparing for the Olympiad final: an agreement has been signed between the Russian Ministry of Science and Higher Education and the government of the Krasnoyarsk Territory on organizing and conducting the final stage. The issue of providing grant support to the winners and prize-winners of the Olympiad will be considered: for students applying to master’s programs and for schoolchildren applying to universities. Currently, 15 grants are planned, and if necessary, we will increase this number,” emphasized Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education.

In addition, over the past three years, the International Movement for Financial Security has been developing, established in accordance with the directive of the President of Russia Vladimir Putin following the meeting with the finalists of the third Olympiad in 2023. An executive committee for the movement has been created.

Sofia Malyavina, CEO of the National Priorities Autonomous Nonprofit Organization, spoke about the progress of the information campaign for the olympiad and movement, as well as about the development of the social campaign against dropperism “StopDrop”.
