Beijing, July 2 /Xinhua/ — China is ready to extend the list of cooperation and reduce the list of problems together with Canada. This was stated on Thursday by He Yadong, an official representative of the Ministry of Commerce of the PRC.
He Yadong made a corresponding statement commenting on the recent remark by Canada’s Minister of International Trade, Maninder Sidhu, who announced the holding of talks with his Chinese counterpart this autumn about further reducing customs duties on Canadian canola seeds, peas, and seafood.
As reminded by the official representative of the Ministry of Commerce, in January of this year the Chinese and Canadian sides, guided by an important consensus of the leaders of the two countries, signed a roadmap for Sino-Canadian trade and economic cooperation and identified preliminary joint measures to address issues on the bilateral trade and economic agenda.
Since then, the trade and economic teams of both sides have maintained close communication on matters related to the subsequent implementation of the agreements reached, said He Yadun.
According to him, the Chinese side consistently advocates resolving mutual concerns through equal dialogue and consultations, being ready to continue jointly with the Canadian side to extend the cooperation list and reduce the list of problems, in order to promote healthy, stable, and sustainable development of China-Canada trade and economic relations. –0–
