Almaty, July 2 /Xinhua/ — The President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odile Renaud-Basso, stated that this year the bank’s investments in Kazakhstan’s economy may exceed 1.3 billion euros. This was reported on Thursday by the press service of the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan.
At a meeting with the EBRD head in Astana, Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov pointed out that over the years of joint work, the EBRD portfolio in the country has reached 354 projects totaling $12.7 billion in the fields of small and medium-sized businesses, finance, housing and communal services, energy, agriculture, and information technology.
O. Reno-Basso, for her part, noted that to date the EBRD has already financed projects in Kazakhstan totaling over 800 million euros.
At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to further expand cooperation and implement new joint projects. –0–
