Baghdad, July 1 /Xinhua/ — Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein met on Tuesday with the Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf /GCC/, Jasem Mohammed al-Budaywi, to discuss bilateral relations.
According to the statement published by the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs, F. Hussein expressed hope that the visit would promote rapprochement, which would serve the common interests of the peoples of Iraq and the Persian Gulf countries.
F. Hussein confirmed Iraq’s commitment to strengthening strong, balanced ties with the GCC countries and developing cooperation in many sectors, according to the statement.
In turn, J. M. al-Budaywi stated that his visit to Baghdad was organized on behalf of the GCC member states to deliver a message emphasizing their commitment to strengthening ties and expanding joint cooperation with Iraq.
J. M. al-Budaywi also promised that the GASGPD will continue to support the stability and reconstruction of Iraq. –0–
