Beijing, June 30 /Xinhua/ — In the current situation, the priority tasks for the United States and Iran are to comply with and implement the Memorandum of Understanding, maintain the momentum of negotiations, and promptly reach a comprehensive agreement that would be approved by both the United States and Iran, accepted by the countries of the region, and welcomed by the international community. This was stated on Tuesday by Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.

Wang Yi made the corresponding statement during talks in Beijing with the Foreign Minister of Saudi Arabia, Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud. The head of China’s foreign affairs department noted that the current ceasefire remains fragile; however, negotiations are better than armed conflict, and dialogue is preferable to confrontation.
