AVTOTOR launches a social project for the development of mass sports

The new social project “ARENA OF OPPORTUNITIES” is being created primarily for children who have been left without parental care, children and teenagers from low-income, single-parent, and large families, as well as children of participants in the special military operation (SVO), living in the microdistrict named after Alexander Kosmodemyansky. The main goal of this large-scale initiative is to help kids get involved in sports, gain confidence, find new friends and like-minded people, and possibly discover new talents and abilities within themselves.
“ARENA OF OPPORTUNITIES” is a joint project of the AVTOTOTO Arena and the public organization “K.O.S.M.A for Sport”, which has been working with children in difficult life situations for more than 10 years. In the autumn of last year, the Sports Palace came to their aid and provided a space for sports equipment, which volunteers collected little by little, as well as a hall for training the organization’s wards – about 100 children have been training in comfortable and safe conditions for six months.
– We used to have just a small “gym” in the school’s basement, – recalls 15-year-old resident of the neighborhood, schoolboy Yaroslav Akulov. – I first came there in October 2024. The older kids were given keys, they opened the door, and we all trained together in the evenings. Of course, the conditions at Avtototor-Arena became much more comfortable. It’s more spacious here, and everything is designed for the convenience of athletes. We now train here with pleasure, everything is free for us. I see that new kids are appearing in the gym. It’s really great.
Having provided the youth with a modern and safe training space, AVTOTOTO-Arena and “K.O.S.M.A za Sport” decided to take another joint step and open the doors to sports for the maximum possible number of children, families who cannot afford to pay for training.
– I have devoted my entire life to educating children and youth through sports and see how powerful a positive effect it gives, – says Pavel Miyailov, Deputy General Director of the Sports Palace. – When the idea of the “ARENA OF OPPORTUNITIES” project was born, I began to communicate with our partners, sections, clubs, and everyone responded gladly and came forward, everyone was ready to contribute their part free of charge. This is how these 200 additional places appeared. And we already see interest from parents and children, enrollment is going actively.In my opinion, education through sports is almost the last true form of education left in society. Otherwise – only through the streets, and we all understand what this can lead to.
Chairman of the organization “K.O.S.M.A for Sport” Maria Degeleva emphasizes: the project “ARENA OF OPPORTUNITIES” does not have the task of inevitably raising Olympic champions. More importantly, it is to introduce children to a healthy lifestyle and protect them from harmful influences.
– I clearly remember myself as a 15-year-old teenage girl, I remember how we used to sit around the entrances and didn’t know where to go. When my son was already 12, there was practically nowhere for him to go to do sports for free. Thanks to the help of the city administration and personally to Alexey Nikolaevich Silanov, our organization managed to get a room in a school, where we equipped a gym for the kids of our neighborhood. Unfortunately, it so happened that in 2025 this problem arose again.We met Pavel Alexandrovich Misailov and Avtotoro Arena General Director Adam Asxabovich Baranoyev, and somehow immediately found a common language, turned out to be on the same wavelength. We are immensely grateful to both. For our guys and our equipment, they provided premises in the Sports Palace, and now we are together starting to implement a new major project “ARENA OF OPPORTUNITIES.” From my own experience, I see that sport can truly change destiny. Among those who have walked through our “gym,” there are guys who have grown to the all-Russian level. In their life there is no alcohol or cigarettes, they have become completely different people.One of those who helps the “ARENA OF OPPORTUNITIES” project is 20-year-old Alexander Bachinsky. In his life, the modest gym with exercise equipment, which once appeared thanks to the organization “K.O.S.M.A for Sports,” also played a noticeable role. “At first, an acquaintance invited me there, and after some time I started going regularly,” Alexander recalls. “Now it is already a habit, I try to work out at least three days a week. I was not a difficult teenager, but I saw those kinds of kids. I’m sure that getting involved in sports saved many of them because there was a place to channel their energy. The atmosphere in our gym was always friendly.”Among those we worked with, there are truly close people to me. That’s exactly why I believe the “ARENA OPPORTUNITIES” project is amazing. Not every family can afford to spend money on paid training for a child. But here – there are so many places and types of sports!
Children from 4 to 17 years old can participate in the “ARENA OF OPPORTUNITIES” project. There are 200 social (free!) spots reserved for sports activities. You can choose from 15 directions presented on the walls of the AUTOTO – Arena, including wrestling, water polo, team sports, and many other disciplines. However, it’s not just about training. Kids can look forward to various joint events, celebrations, competitions, and also meetings with the best athletes of the region and Russia! The new project has become a logical continuation of the social mission of the AVTOTOTO Arena, built, let us recall, with the company’s own funds AVTOTOTO.
