Kabul/Islamabad, June 29 /Xinhua/ — At least 36 people were killed and another 163 were injured as a result of Pakistani airstrikes in eastern Afghanistan, Afghan government officials said on Monday.
Deputy official representative of the Afghan government Hamdullah Fitrat published on the social network X a message stating that strikes were carried out on Sunday night in the provinces of Paktia, Paktika, and Kunar, which border Pakistan.
Earlier, the official representative of the Afghan government, Zabihullah Mujahid, strongly condemned the airstrikes.
The Federal Minister of Information and Broadcasting of Pakistan, Attaullah Tarar, previously stated that Pakistan has launched a ground operation and carried out air strikes against the banned terrorist groups ‘Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan’ and ‘Jamaat-ul-Ahrar’ in the border areas between Pakistan and Afghanistan.
According to the Pakistani minister, 29 terrorists involved in recent numerous attacks against peaceful civilians and law enforcement agencies of Pakistan were killed. –0–
