Chengdu, June 29 /Xin Hua/ — As of 3:30 Monday after an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 in Gaoshan county, administratively subordinated to the city of Yibin in Sichuan province /Southwest China/, no reports of deaths have been received, 13 people received minor injuries, local authorities reported on Monday.

The injured were sent to hospitals for medical assistance, 196 more people were evacuated and placed in temporary accommodation centers. Intensive and organized work is underway to eliminate the consequences of the earthquake and provide emergency aid, the headquarters for the elimination of the earthquake consequences in the city of Ibin reported.

According to data from the China Earthquake Networks Center (CENC), the earthquake occurred on June 29 at 00:12 Beijing time. The epicenter was recorded at the coordinates 28.50 degrees north latitude and 104.69 degrees east longitude, and the hypocenter was located at a depth of 6 km.

The Chinese Seismological Bureau on Monday activated a Level 3 emergency response mode following an earthquake with a magnitude of 5.5 in Gaoshan County. -0-
