Qinan, June 27 /Xinhua/ — On Saturday in the city of Qufu in Shandong Province /East China/, as a result of the collapse of the upper element of the structure of a memorial arch, one person died and six others were injured. This was reported by local authorities.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:47 in the village of Nansinnanyan in the settlement of Nishan, the settlement administration clarified. After the incident, seven victims were taken to the hospital, where one of them died.
Authorities have launched an investigation into the causes of the incident and are working on eliminating the consequences.
