Beijing, June 26 /Xinhua/ — According to a report by the analytical center of Xinhua News Agency, published on Friday, the trend “Shopping in China” has become a new powerful driver of global trade in services.
The report titled “Shopping in China: joint use of new opportunities of open development” was published by the Xin Hua Institute, an analytical center at the Chinese news agency Xin Hua.
In 2025, China’s export of tourist services increased by 49.5% annually to 393.98 billion yuan (about 57.8 billion USD), becoming the fastest growing sector of service exports, according to the report.
“Shopping in China” directly led to a sharp increase in the export of tourist services from China, and the comprehensive experience of foreign tourists in China not only optimizes the structure of China’s trade, but also gives a powerful impulse to the recovery of the global tourist services market, notes the above-mentioned report.
According to the report, the trend “Shopping in China” also contributes to the synergistic development of related global service industries, including aviation, insurance, and finance.
