Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko held a working meeting with the acting governor of the Bryansk region, Yegor Kovalchuk. They discussed issues of the development of science and education, sports and tourism in the region.
“Investing in youth is a direct contribution to the country’s future. We see that the Bryansk region adheres to this principle. The region believes in youth and its talents. Thanks to the measures of the national project ‘Youth and Children,’ a starting platform for realizing potential is appearing for the younger generation of the region. Clusters of ‘Professionalism’ in medicine and agriculture have already been created, schools are being renovated. In the capital repair program (for 2022–2027) — more than 100 buildings, over 80 are already ready,” Dmitry Chernishenko emphasized.
A major overhaul of the Bryansk medical and social technical school named after Academician N.M. Amosov, and dormitories of the university is also planned.
The admissions campaign has started in the region. More than 3 thousand budget places have been established for higher education programs, and more than 6 thousand for SPO.
Last year, within the framework of the “Student Startup” contest of the federal project “Technologies”, 2 students from regional universities received grants of 1 million rubles each for the implementation of their business projects in the field of “biotechnology”.
In addition, two research projects in the field of socio-humanitarian sciences, supported by the Russian Science Foundation, have started at Bryansk State University. There are two centers for shared use of scientific equipment operating in the region, competitions are held for the best scientific work by scholars “Science of the Bryansk Region” and students of universities “Modern Scientific Achievements. Bryansk”.
Dmitry Chernyshenko and Egor Kovalchuk also paid attention to the sports infrastructure.
The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that the level of provision of citizens with sports facilities is 87.2%, which is significantly higher than the planned value and the average Russian indicator. In the Bryansk region, 3 federations accredited at the regional level for innovative types of sports operate: drone racing, computer sports, and fidgetal sports.
Also, last year more than 30 thousand people participated in passing the GTO complex standards, including more than 11 thousand – for the gold badge of distinction.
“Federal support is indispensable for regions to address a number of important issues in key areas. Recently, more than 200 sports facilities have been built in the region, 8 more FOCs are under construction, as well as sports grounds and GTO sites. The possibility of opening a Women’s Boxing Academy in Bryansk, a modern athletics arena, a stadium, and a physical culture and sports complex in the Navlinsky district was discussed. To prepare qualified coaches in Bryansk, the plan includes opening, on the basis of the Bryansk School of Olympic Reserve, a branch of the Smolensk University of Sport,” said the acting governor of Bryansk oblast.
According to regional data, a project is being developed for the development of a public area – the arrangement of the city’s tourist center with full infrastructure, including a cafe, a tourist navigation system, and spaces for the sale of products by local producers and traditional craftspeople.
