Bishkek, June 25 /Xin Hua/ — As of April 30, 2026, the total assets of the banking sector of Kyrgyzstan increased by 28.6% since the beginning of the year and amounted to 1,558.1 billion soms (about 17.81 billion US dollars). The National Bank /Central Bank/ of the country reported this on Thursday.
According to data published by the Central Bank on its Telegram channel, the credit portfolio of the country’s banks has grown by 12.4% since the beginning of the year, amounting to 569.8 billion soms. The volume of deposits since the beginning of the year increased by 6.7%, totaling 924.1 billion soms.
As of the end of April 2026, there were 24 commercial banks and 306 branches operating in the territory of Kyrgyzstan.
