In the morning period, investors will be able to make deals with all instruments, except currency pair options. For currency futures, price limits of +/- 3% will be set during the morning session.
Maria Patrikeeva, Managing Director of the Derivatives Market of the Moscow Exchange:
“Extending trading hours is a long-awaited event for the market. For modern traders, the maximum trading duration is a basic condition for comfortable work. Extending the session by two hours allows eliminating temporary delays at market opening and reducing volatility at the start of trading. This decision directly responds to the requests of participants for increased liquidity and gives them the ability to flexibly react to global trends over a 17-hour period.”
In addition, starting July 18, currency futures will become available within the framework of an additional trading session within one day. Similar price limits of 3% will be established for currency futures.
At the moment, trading on the derivatives market starts with an opening auction at 08:50 and continues until 23:50. Trading on weekdays is conducted from 9:50 to 19:00.
