Shenzhen, June 18 /Xin Hua/ — On June 17, a China-Europe train carrying speakers, air conditioners, and other goods departed from the state logistics hub “Pin Shun An” in the city of Shenzhen, Guangdong Province, in southern China, heading to the Elektrogorsk railway station in Moscow Oblast. It became the 109th freight train dispatched from Shenzhen along the China-Europe route this year.
Freight trains traveling by rail from Shenzhen to Europe mainly operate on routes leading to Russia through the Manzhouli border crossing in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in northern China, and to Germany and Poland through the Alashankou and Khorgos border crossings in the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region in northwestern China.
In five years of operation, the Shenzhen-Europe railway mainline launched 28 routes connecting 47 countries in Europe and Asia. In total, over 1,000 trains were dispatched, transporting 650 thousand tons of cargo with a total value exceeding 25 billion yuan / 3.67 billion USD. More than 8,000 companies have used the railway freight transportation services.
According to data from the Shenzhen customs, from January to May of this year, 102 trains were sent out from Shenzhen, operating on the China-Europe route with goods totaling 3.53 billion yuan. Both indicators grew, respectively, by 43.7% and 68% year-on-year. -0-
