“Effective migration policy requires a balance between economic interests, sociocultural integration, and ensuring national security,” emphasized representatives of the GUU at the Scientific and Practical Seminar.
The meeting on the topic “State Migration Policy and Interethnic Relations” brought together leading experts, representatives of state authorities, the scientific and expert community.
Deputy of the State Duma, Chairman of the Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans’ Affairs Yaroslav Nilov joined the meeting via videoconference and emphasized the importance of a comprehensive approach to the regulation of migration processes.
A comprehensive assessment of the existing migration policy was provided by representatives of the State University of Management – Professor of the Department of Public Administration and Political Science Vladimir Volokhi and senior lecturer of the same department Svetlana Stepanova. The experts pointed out the necessity of balancing economic interests, socio-cultural integration, and ensuring national security, and emphasized practical tools: improving legislation and applying reliable analytical methods.Special attention was paid to the Concept of State Migration Policy until 2030, aimed at streamlining migration flows and increasing the efficiency of integration.
More details about the Concept were described by Vladimir Zorin, Chairman of the Commission on Interethnic, Interreligious Relations and Migration of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation, while the main problems in the implementation of the migration policy of the Russian Federation were outlined by Kirill Kabanov, member of the Council under the President of the Russian Federation for the Development of Civil Society and Human Rights, Chairman of the National Anti-Corruption Committee of the Russian Federation.
In turn, Yuri Moskovsky, director of the Information and Analytical Center “Prognoz”, presented the report “Additional measures to improve Russian legislation and its application practice regarding foreign citizens on the territory of the Russian Federation”
This meeting became part of a series of seminars dedicated to migration issues, which will continue in September 2026.
