Shanxi, June 17 /Xinhua/ — China will consistently expand the openness of the financial sector at the institutional level, Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC, Li Ke, said on Wednesday.

Speaking at the forum “Lutszyatsuy-2026,” which opened the same day, He Lifeng, who is also a member of the Politburo of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), noted that China welcomes the readiness of financial institutions from around the world to expand their presence in the Chinese market and take advantage of China’s development opportunities.

China will continuously improve the legal framework in the financial sector and unwaveringly ensure national financial security, promised He Lifeng, adding that China is ready with all parties to strengthen cooperation in the field of global financial governance and jointly overcome risks and challenges.

According to the Vice Premier of the State Council of the PRC, support will be provided for conducting pilot projects in the field of offshore finance, accelerating the creation of a global center for asset placement in yuan and risk management, improving the convenience of conducting cross-border trade and investment activities, as well as expanding and enhancing the range of credit, insurance, and bond products, including insurance for maritime transportation.

This, as He Lifen noted, will allow Shanghai to achieve new breakthroughs in development as an international financial center.

A member of the Politburo of the CPC Central Committee, Secretary of the Shanxi CPC Committee Chen Quzhen also participated in the event. -0-
