Three projects by GUU students were among the best at the International Social Advertising Competition “Time to Decide.” A total of more than 250 applications from all over Russia and other countries were submitted to the competition in 2026.

The winner in the “Banner/Poster” nomination was the work “You are alone with yourself” by third-year students of the “Advertising and Public Relations in Business” program Veronika Kviring and Ekaterina Zamordueva. The girls drew attention to the problem of professional and emotional burnout among working people.

“In the developed series of social posters, we call to reconsider the attitude towards work and remind that taking care of oneself, of one’s emotional and physical state, is necessary. On the poster, we used a metaphorical technique on a semantic and visual level: cracks on a cup, on a phone screen, which symbolize chronic stress and emotional exhaustion,” Veronica Kviring introduced her work.

In the category “Audio Advertising,” our students received gold and bronze.

The first place was taken by an audio clip about the dangers of using a phone while driving, “The phone can wait, life cannot,” created by third-year students of the “Advertising and Public Relations in Business” program: Aleksandra Bondareva, Vera Pronina, and Arseniy Fedyaev.

“Using a phone while driving is dangerous. We specifically tried to convey this idea through audio means. We worked on the video as a single team: we carefully thought through the script, aiming to make it as concise and easy to understand the issue within the first seconds; we tried different intonations for the voiceover to convey the emotional and traumatic consequences of phone communication while driving,” said Alexandra Bondareva.

The bronze in the nomination was awarded to the work “Professionalism in business, not on the body,” dedicated to the problem of stereotypes and prejudice during employment. The story of a young specialist who was refused employment because of a tattoo on his body was invented and told by 3rd-year students of the “Advertising and Digital Design” program: Yan Karpovich, Elena Kuzmina, and Anna Logvinova.

“We wanted to remind employers and society as a whole that professionalism, talent, and many years of work experience do not have a ‘dress code on skin,’ and existing stereotypes often hinder truly appreciating valuable specialists,” shared Yana Karpovich’s thought.

The projects of GUU students were carried out under the supervision of the associate professor of the Department of Advertising and Public Relations, Alexandra Timofeevna.

Congratulations to the guys and the mentor on the well-deserved victory and we wish you further success and inspiration!
