Bishkek, June 15 /Xin Hua/ — The Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of Kyrgyzstan in January-May 2026, according to a preliminary estimate, amounted to 781.1 billion soms (about 8.9 billion US dollars), having increased by 12.2 percent year-on-year. This was reported on Monday by the country’s National Statistical Committee.
As noted, GDP growth is supported by the manufacturing sectors, the service sector, and net taxes on products. Manufacturing sectors increased by 22.1% year-on-year, the service sectors by 7%, and net taxes on products by 11.8%.
In the structure of GDP, the share of the service sectors amounted to 51.1%, which is 3.6 percentage points less than in January-May of the previous year. The share of manufacturing industries, on the contrary, increased by 3.4 percentage points and amounted to 32.6%.
Industrial production volume has increased by 14.4% since the beginning of the year. Construction growth amounted to 1.6 times, wholesale and retail trade — 10.4%, agriculture, forestry, and fishing — 3.7%, in the hotel and restaurant services sector — 15.5%.
Consumer prices and tariffs nationwide increased by 4.8% in January-May of the current year compared to December of the previous year.
The volume of external and mutual trade in goods in January-April 2026 amounted to 4 billion 760.7 million dollars, which is 3.6 percent less in annual terms. –0–
