Almaty, June 15 /Xin Hua/ — According to the results of the first five months of 2026, Kazakhstan’s economic growth amounted to 3.7 percent. This was reported on Monday by the government’s press service of the country, citing data from the Ministry of National Economy.

In the processing industry, growth was 9 percent year-on-year, and the production volume in mechanical engineering increased by 22.2 percent year over year. From January to May, more than 81 thousand units of motor vehicles were produced in the country.

The chemical industry sector grew by 17.8% over the reporting period in annual terms, the production of building materials increased by 18.7%. In agriculture, the growth amounted to 3.6%.
