Saint Petersburg, June 15 /Xin Hua/ — The integral rating of the socio-economic situation of Russian regions was published by RIA Novosti on Monday, with Moscow and Saint Petersburg becoming its leaders.
According to the results of 2025, Moscow scored 94.48 points in the rating, Saint Petersburg — 90.21 points and took second place. The two cities occupy high positions in the rating thanks to a strong economy, developed industry, and contribution to the country’s total gross regional product. The Republic of Tatarstan entered the top 3 with 86.37 points.
Also in the top 10 were the Moscow and Sverdlovsk regions, the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, the Leningrad region, the Krasnoyarsk and Krasnodar territories, and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug.
The rating results show that in 2025, the dynamics of socio-economic development in the Russian regions will be multidirectional. Against the backdrop of a general deterioration of the economic situation, the number of regions with positive dynamics has decreased.
The rating is formed based on key indicators, divided into four main groups: the scale of the economy, its efficiency, the state of the budgetary sphere, and indicators of the social sphere. –0–
