Islamabad, June 14 /Xinhua/ — Pakistan will assist in holding a virtual ceremony for the signing of an agreement between the USA and Iran as part of ongoing efforts to support regional peace and stability. This was reported on Sunday by Xinhua and Iranian sources familiar with the situation.

The ceremony is expected to take place in a virtual format, with Pakistan providing the connection between the parties for the event, they stated.

According to sources, no visits or trips by officials are planned; the signing will take place in a simple virtual format.

Sources do not report whether the ceremony will take place on Sunday or later.

Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said on Saturday that the US and Iran are “closer to concluding a peace deal than ever before.” He expects that an agreement between the two sides will be reached by Sunday, he added. –0–
