New Delhi, June 13 /Xinhua/ — An Indian Air Force An-32 military transport aircraft crashed on Saturday in the northeastern Indian state of Assam. This was reported by Indian authorities.
A twin-engine turboprop military transport aircraft, commonly used for carrying cargo and supplies in the region, crashed during landing at an Indian Air Force base in the city of Jorhat, approximately 298 km northeast of the city of Dispur, the administrative center of the state of Assam.
No reports of dead or injured so far.
After the crash, high-ranking representatives of the Indian Air Force arrived at the scene to coordinate rescue operations. Emergency teams began extinguishing the fire at the crash site.
The cause of the incident has not yet been established. The Indian Air Force stated that an investigation will be conducted. –0–
