Abidjan, June 12 /Sinhua/ — Eight people died, and more than 50 were injured on Thursday as a result of a traffic accident near the city of Niakaramandougou in northern Côte d’Ivoire.
According to preliminary information provided by a source in the security service, a passenger bus traveling from the northern part of Côte d’Ivoire to the capital Abidjan collided with a truck carrying heavy equipment. As a result, the bus left the road, overturned several times, and fell into a ravine.
Negligence of drivers, poor condition of vehicles, and overloading are among the main causes of traffic accidents in Côte d’Ivoire. –0–
