London, June 12 /Xin Hua/ — Dan Jarvis was appointed on Thursday evening as the new UK Secretary of Defense. He will replace John Hilli, who resigned earlier that same day due to disagreements over defense plans.
D. Jarvis held the post of Deputy Minister of the Interior of the United Kingdom from July 2024 to June 2026.
J. Hill took the post of Minister of Defense after the Labor Party came to power in July 2024.
