Yerevan, June 11 /Syunhua/ — The Government of Armenia at a meeting on Thursday made a decision to open the checkpoint (KPP) Margara on the Armenian-Turkish border from June 12 to 22 for sending humanitarian aid to Lebanon through the territory of Turkey. This was reported by the press service of the Armenian government.

“During a series of working meetings of representatives of the relevant departments of Armenia and Lebanon, an agreement was also reached on discussing the issue of Armenia providing humanitarian aid to Lebanon. Transporting humanitarian cargo through the territory of Turkey will make its delivery faster and more economical,” the government resolution notes.

In mid-May, the government of Armenia decided to provide humanitarian aid to Lebanon. About 60 million drams / approximately 161,600 US dollars / were allocated to the Ministry of Economy for this purpose: 34 million drams / approximately 91,600 US dollars / for the purchase of food and sanitary-hygienic products and 26 million drams / approximately 70,000 US dollars / for the purchase of medicines. –0–
