Compare funds with similar strategies, but different fees. A difference of even 0.2% can turn into a significant amount over 10 years. However, a higher fee does not mean that the fund is worse – its yield may still be higher due to the fund manager’s higher quality investment decisions.
Important to remember: past performance does not guarantee future results, and selecting a fund solely based on previous performance may be risky.
- Focus on the column “Investment unit yield for 12 months”.
- Do not choose a fund solely based on the highest yield!
- Note that some funds (such as “closed” funds) have “Performance Fee” (column 15) – an additional percentage of the increase in the fund’s asset value, which is charged by the management company. This can increase fees in “successful” years, but at the same time, it may indicate greater motivation on the part of the management company to achieve better fund management results.
