Moscow, June 11 /TASS/ — Expectation of sanctions does not prevent Russian banks from maintaining absolute stability, receiving higher profits, and developing. This was stated at a briefing by the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation Dmitry Peskov, commenting on the plans of the European Union to introduce new sanctions against the Russian banking system.
“Only yesterday at a meeting with the government, the president spoke about the fact that, despite certain difficulties, certain tendencies related to investment restraint or slowdown, the situation is still absolutely stable and absolutely controlled. The same can be said about the banking sector,” stated the Kremlin representative.
According to him, the largest Russian banks have long been under sanctions, but this does not prevent them from making large profits, developing, maintaining absolute stability, and supporting their maximum high reliability ratings.
D. Peskov emphasized that the Russian Central Bank is paying close attention to the situation and is taking necessary measures to maintain stability in the banking sector.
