Aden /Yemen/, June 11 /Xinhua/ — A powerful explosion rocked a military camp belonging to pro-government forces in the southern port city of Yemen Aden early Thursday morning. Twelve soldiers were killed and several others injured, correspondents from Xinhua local sources reported.
A security service representative said on condition of anonymity that the explosion occurred in the government camp ‘Brigade of Giants’ in the Al-Mimdara area and was heard across most of the city’s territory.
According to preliminary information, the cause of the explosion was a short circuit in the ammunition warehouse, which led to a fire.
