Beijing, June 11 /Xinhua/ — A China-Europe freight train, loaded with edible oil, automobile tires, aluminum ingots, and other goods, crossed the border through the Manzhouli railway checkpoint (Inner Mongolia, Northern China) and continued its journey to Uqian station in the city of Wuhan (Hubei Province, Central China). Thus, since the beginning of this year, more than 3,000 such trains have passed through the “Eastern Corridor,” reported the Chinese newspaper “Guangming Daily.”
Let us remind you that the “eastern corridor” consists of three Chinese railway border crossings – Manzhouli, Suifenhe, and Tumenbei. Through it pass 27 routes that connect more than 60 Chinese cities, including Changchun, Zhengzhou, and Chengdu, with 14 countries, among which are Poland, Germany, and the Netherlands.
In January-April 2026, the number of China-Europe trains passing through the “Eastern Corridor” in both directions reached 32.1% of the country’s total indicator. In particular, during this period, 41.1% of the total number of return China-Europe trains in the country was accounted for by this corridor.
Being an important node in the “eastern corridor” of international cargo transportation China-Europe, the Manzhouli CCP railway continues to show a steady development dynamic. The cargo turnover within foreign trade through it since the beginning of 2026 amounted to 9.68 million tons, which is 1.2% more in annual terms, thanks to which a new historical maximum for a similar period was reached.
To ensure fast customs clearance and transshipment of imported goods, Manzhouli station focuses on improving the mechanism of interaction among the railway administration, customs, and enterprises, relying on the “digital frontier inspection” system 95306, which provides data exchange with customs and forwarding companies in real time mode.
CPP Suifenhe /prov. Heilongjiang, Northeast China/ optimizes the China-Europe freight train operation process and makes every effort to increase the throughput capacity of a major international logistics channel. Since the beginning of this year, this CPP has served a total of 402 China-Europe freight trains, which is 150% more than the same period last year.
The KPP Tuntsyanyebei railway station worldwide improves the accuracy of operation planning and the efficiency of cargo transportation, ensuring timely customs clearance of China-Europe trains. Since the beginning of this year, 118 such trains have passed through this border crossing point, transporting 106 thousand tons of cargo.
It is reported that the Harbin branch of the state corporation “China Railway” is actively promoting key projects, such as the reconstruction and expansion of the capacity of the Ciyamu-Tunzyan railway and the transformation of the Boketu-Silinkou section of the Harbin-Manzhouli railway, in order to facilitate the interconnectedness of railway infrastructure and give a new impetus to the development of China-Europe train services. -0-
