Washington, June 10 /Xin Hua/ — U.S. President Donald Trump said on Wednesday that Iran has “been negotiating a deal for too long” on the Middle East conflict and now “must pay for it.”

“Iran is just talks and no action,” wrote D. Trump on the social network Truth Social. “They are negotiating a deal for too long, which would have been perfect for them, and now they will have to pay for it.”

As Fox News reported on Wednesday, citing a telephone interview, the American president allowed that he might give an order to strike new blows on Iranian power plants and bridges.

“Maybe I’ll continue,” D. Trump said in an interview. “I didn’t have a chance to sign the agreement and live further,” he added.

According to the president, Tehran “led the United States by the nose” in a series of peace talks that ultimately brought practically no progress.

According to reports, on June 9, the United States Armed Forces struck approximately 20 targets in Iran in response to the downing of a U.S. military helicopter in the Strait of Hormuz area.

As stated in the widely circulated June 9 statement by the Central Command of the US Armed Forces, among the targets hit were Iranian air defense complexes, radar stations, and ground control points.
