On the platform“Active Citizen — For Children”An educational quiz dedicated to International Heraldry Day, which is celebrated annually on June 10, has begun. It will introduce not only the coats of arms of various districts of the capital, but also the history and rules of the science that studies coats of arms. The questions are divided by difficulty level depending on the age of the participants.

Participantsfrom eight to ten yearsto find out what the five leaves on the coat of arms of the Zyuzino district represent, what the three symbols above the wave on the coat of arms of the Kosino-Ukhtomsky district depict, and what exactly the sun symbolizes on the coat of arms of the Novokosino district. In addition, the quiz will allow you to learn the name of the special stencil used to create all heraldic symbols of the capital, displayed in the Coat of Arms Hall of the city of Moscow on Smolenskaya Square — a branch of the Moscow Museum, subordinate to the capital’sDepartment of Culture.
The oldest participants in agefrom 11 to 13 years oldwill be able to delve into the theory of heraldry. They will have to answer the question of why in ancient times it was absolutely necessary to describe a coat of arms with words. The guys will also learn what merlons are.
The quiz was prepared in cooperation with the city Department of Culture. For each correct answer to the question, the children will receive points in the city’s loyalty program.“Million Prize”. They will be able to use them to receive goods and services from program partners or to donate to charitable funds that support animals.
